Look no further than Winnipeg — the ideal host city for your competition. Our passionate sporting community and fans are dedicated to making your championship a safe and successful event!

Let your athletes experience the joy of polar bears swimming overhead at Journey to Churchill while relaxing after their championship. Be inspired to make a difference at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights; journey from prehistory to the present at the Manitoba Museum; discover the world’s largest collection of contemporary Inuit art at Winnipeg Art Gallery’s brand-new Qaumajuq; or have a worldly experience at the Royal Canadian Mint, where millions of coins are produced for over 75 countries.

Your athletes will definitely feel the thrill while cheering on the NHL Winnipeg Jets, CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers, CPL Valour FC and the American Association’s Goldeyes baseball teams while in action.

A winning track record hosting sporting events

Winnipeg is a proven destination when it comes to hosting world-class sporting events. We’ve recently hosted such major events as the Grey Cup, the NHL Heritage Classic, the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the incredibly successful Canada Summer Games, which exceeded attendance expectations.

Great location

Our central location equates to short flight times from either coast. The Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport is only 15 minutes from downtown, while the surrounding area features excellent and affordable hotels, along with shopping at CF Polo Park and Outlet Collection Winnipeg.

Sports Facilities

Winnipeg provides sport facilities for year-round recreation, ranging from outdoor competitions such as ultimate disc sports and softball games, to indoor sports including ringette, swimming and badminton.

At a glance there is:

  • University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg — both feature indoor soccer complexes, basketball/volleyball courts and various outdoor fields.
  • The Pan-Am Pool — the 2019 Canadian Swimming Championships venue recently underwent over $2.6 million in renovations.
  • Bell MTS Iceplex — offers four NHL-sized ice sheets, a high-performance off-ice training facility, conference rooms and much more.
  • Sport for Life Centre — this state-of-the-art athletic training centre houses a track, multiple courts, sport medicine centre, training and workshop spaces and more.
  • Buhler Recreation Park — features nine baseball diamonds and four soccer/football pitches.
