Schedule of Events

SEC 2020 will take place at the Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC) and Westin Hotel, plus a number of off-site locations in the evenings. See event schedule for details.

Please note that during our event the glass atrium at ECC is being outfitted with the largest building-integrated solar installation in Canada. Once complete, an estimated 227,000 kilowatt hours of electricity will be generated each year and over 150,000 kgs of C02 will be avoided. This upgrade is a great fit with our SEC sustainability mandate. More details about the project can be found here.

Early arrivals are invited to join the CSTA staff, consultants, board of directors and our friends from Cornwall for a fun (and colourful) evening social. Join us for activities that will bring out your artistic side as you belly up to the bar for a drink or snack and reconnect with your SEC colleagues. If you have a thirst for colour (or simply a thirst), you won’t want to miss this event.

Advance SEC registration will be open in the lobby of the Westin, so it’s also a great chance to check-in and collect your name badge and delegate materials the night before the start of SEC.

With options close to the SEC host hotels or within walking distance of Rogers Place, you’ll have plenty of options for a nice meal prior to the game.

Walking Directions from ECC to Rogers Place (15 mins, 1.1 km)

At 7:30 pm, it’s time for the Edmonton Oilers to face off against the Colorado Avalanche in Canada’s premier arena, Rogers Place. Some lucky ticketholders will also have access to a VIP experience that will include a visit to the Oilers Hall of Fame Room during intermissions.

When the game ends, the party will continue at a post-game celebration (Craft Beer Market – located across the street from the Westin) where $5 drinks and a selection of 40+ Alberta beers will be on tap.

Ticket Info: NHL tickets are included in SEC registration fees on a first come, first served basis. Delegates must request a game ticket during online registration. Space is limited. There will be a waiting list.

If you’ve RSVP’d to attend the game, when you check-in for onsite registration you will receive a voucher as proof of your RSVP and intention to attend. Vouchers will be traded for official NHL tickets between 1 pm and 4 pm on game day in Vendor Alley and seats will be assigned at that time. Anyone who has been waitlisted can check-in here between 3 pm and 4 pm.

Oilers VIP Experience: Some lucky ticketholders will also have access to a VIP experience that will include a visit to the Oilers Hall of Fame Room during intermissions.
