Sport Tourism Canada is working to deepen our focus on equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and is dedicated to ensuring our community, practices and learning environment are welcoming and that all who champion our sector feel a sense of belonging, inclusion, fairness and mutual respect. With this in mind, we are committed to action that will embed EDI into our policies and programmes.
Sport Tourism Canada is seeking interest from our membership to create its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
The EDI Advisory Group will advise and provide input to the STC Board of Directors as they consider the viability of the best approaches to implementation of recommendations, the development of a high-level equity, diversity and inclusion vision statement as well as reports regarding progress on equity, diversity and inclusion related to sport hosting and our Sport Events Congress programme.
As much as possible, members of the Advisory Group should reflect the diversity of Sport Tourism Canada membership. This includes an intention to ensure representation of leaders based on factors including, but not limited to: size of market, region of Canada, stage of career, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, cultural background, religious, Indigenous/First Nations identity, disability, and or/age.
Expression of Interest:
We invite anyone interested in serving to submit a brief Expression of Interest to join the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group for a two-year term. Please send your expression of interest to [email protected] by December 18, 2020 with this information:
- Your contact details (email and phone).
- Your organization and role.
- A brief statement of your interest in participating on the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group.

We welcome all applicants and look forward to creating a dynamic, empowered Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group that will guide Sport Tourism Canada to be an even more welcoming, respectful organization.
