Ottawa, Ont. February 4, 2016: The 24 finalists for the 2016 Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) PRESTIGE Awards represent the spectrum of the sport tourism industry in Canada. From major multi-sport, multi-city international events, to smaller, intimate local ones, to outstanding volunteers and organizations, the finalists exemplify the best in bidding, hosting and staging sport events across Canada.

“This is the 10th anniversary of the CSTA’s PRESTIGE Awards, and at the conclusion of 2015 as the Year of Sport in Canada, the finalists are outstanding examples of the key role that sport plays right across our nation,” said Rick Traer, CEO, Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance. “In 2015, Canada once again demonstrated why it has been consistently named one of the world’s leading sport hosting nations. We are honoured that the PRESTIGE awards recognize the people, the events, the sponsors and the communities who contribute to making Canada a world leader in the sport tourism industry and congratulate each one of the finalists.”

The PRESTIGE Awards will be presented on Monday, March 7, 2016 during the CSTA’s annual Congrès sur les événements sportifs  at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa at a gala luncheon, emceed by broadcast journalist Scott Russell, host of CBC Sports Road to the Olympic Games.
